Paul Govind is a Lecturer at Macquarie University, School of Law and an Executive Committee Member of the Centre for Environmental Law. Paul received his LLB from Macquarie University and his MPhil from the University of Sydney. He is currently finalising his PhD on ‘Law and responsibility in the Anthropocene’ which argues that an ethic of responsibility must be underpin Western legal systems to counterbalance the proliferation of rights. Recent conference papers and publications have looked at the themes of responsibility and extinction in the Anthropocene and the challenge for law in responding to the acceleration of extinction due to climate change.
